Cube Workspace is an innovative coworking concept that offers ‘solutions’ for every kind of entrepreneur. With multiple venues in Johannesburg and Cape Town, Cube Workspace has become a strong participant in the coworking world. A more corporate vibed, well organised and beautifully designed coworking space with an outstanding location. We take a closer look a the Cube Workspace at V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
Welcome to Cube Workspace
CUBE Workspace can be found in two places in Cape Town. One is in the city center and the other at the famous V&A Waterfront. The venue is just outside of the touristy center of the Waterfront, so it’s very easily accessible by car and easy to find, also because of the huge Cube Workspace sign at the entrance. The V&A Waterfront is a neighborhood where shops and all sorts of hospitality can be found, as well as the huge harbor with luxurious yachts. A very safe area in Cape Town.
After being friendly welcomed and signed in at the reception, I received a little tour through the building. Everything was explained very well and I was seated in the area with the hot-desks and designated desks. A very welcoming vibe from the beginning! I forgot my own power converter but was given one to borrow for the day.

Desks at Cube Workspace
The hot-desks consist of two big wooden tables with many power outlets. These hot-desks are surrounded by dedicated desks and semi-private dedicated desks. These desks provide a lot of privacy because of the partions in between. There are drawers to store your belongings at, as well as lockers on the wall. The chairs that come with the desks are very comfortable and have a head support. Some designated desks have more light than others, but the hot-desks have enough natural light to stay focused for the day. The desks for day workers are in the designated offices. There is enough space to host about 15 coworkers. These offices are just as comfortable as the hot-desks and designated desks, but they lack a little more light.
In total there are 51 offices in Cube Workspace that can be rented. All the offices can be custom made to create an environment that suits best with your business.
Cube Workspaces is not very famous for its views, but the interior makes all up for it, as well as its very fast and stable WiFi connection. And whenever there is loadshedding, they got you covered.
Other rooms
Cube Workspace provides noiseproof phone booths and small offices with seated or standing arrangements that can be used as a member. Next to this there are three large boardrooms with all modern facilities and the latest equipment for a productive meeting. Next to these physical rooms and offices, there is also the availability of signing up for a virtual office. Allowing you to have a business address and a call answering service without any physical office space.
Cube Workspace vibes
The interior of Cube Workspace has a very modern and light design, which makes it easy to stay focused. The pieces of art throughout the building, stone marble floors, the heigh ceilings and the industrial setup combined with brick walls create a very luxurious feeling as soon as you walk in.
Cube Workspace is mainly focused on their private offices, occupying most of the building is and therefore more corporate based. The area with hot-desks and designated desks is significantly smaller, as well as the two offices dedicated to daily coworkers. Because of this, the vibes are slightly more formal within the venue, but still very friendly and you notice no difference between the different clientele. Everyone is keen for a little chat and proudly talks about their business.
Cube Workspace services
Throughout the day, you can make use of one of the self-service stations. These stations provide coffee and tea, milk and sugar and filtered cold water. Within the venue there is a little restaurant with some cozy seats. Here you can order some fancy coffees as well as light and very affordable meals or some snacks. After work, you can also hop in the restaurant for a beer or a gin tonic.
As a member of Cube Workspace you become a part of the so called Cube Circle. Next to getting to network easily with the other businesses in the venue, you get to attend informative Cube Talks, to learn from industry leaders. It will also be made very easy for the members to support a charity and communities, as this is all organized. Also many events are hosted to network and have a social after-work session.
Memberships
There are different kinds of memberships available at Cube Workspace. A ‘Pay as you work’ pass is available for those that just want to have a productive day every now and then. As a daily worker, you can make use of the indoor services and you get one free fancy coffee from the restaurant.
The hot desks, dedicated and semi dedicated desks all are rented out by the month for very reasonable prices and have unlimited access during the operating hours. The private offices come in different sizes and can be personalized in any way. Then, as discussed before you can rent a ‘Virtual Office’ when there is the need for a business address without the physical office space.
