Coworking at Spaces V&A Waterfront, one of the over 6000 venues worldwide that Spaces holds. Spaces is part of the IWG network, together with the more corporate Regus and No18. Spaces is more focused on the coworking field and stands out for their international and extremely affordable memberships, giving access to all offices worldwide. There are two main Spaces locations in Cape Town with one in famous Long Street. Today I’m coworking at Spaces V&A Waterfront.

Welcome to Spaces V&A Waterfront

The area of V&A Waterfront is one of the safest, highly visited and much beloved areas of Cape Town. Spaces is located at the Dock Road, just on the edge of the Waterfront district. The Spaces building is very easy to find. Not only because of the bright blue exterior, but also because of the good accessibility with the highway just around the corner. Just a 15-minute walk will bring you to the bustling V&A Waterfront center with numerous of shops, restaurants and bars.

After entering the building, I was welcomed very friendly at the reception desk. I was already expected and a detailed tour through the building was given, showing all the common areas, coworking spaces and some of the offices and meeting rooms. Immediately I felt very welcome and found a lovely seat in the café area at one of the hot-desks. A great start for a very productive day!

Desks at Spaces V&A Waterfront

On the 1st and the 3rd floor, the hot-desks can be found. These have all different sizes and shapes. There are big shared desks and tables, as well as more private desks and even cozy coffee-shop like benches. There is always a desk that fits you! The coworking areas have a lot of natural daylight and offer nice city views. Most desks have power outlets, but not all of them have outlets for two-pin plugs, so be sure to bring a converter! The chairs are comfortable and simple desk chairs. The WiFi on all the floors is stable and very fast. Everything you need for a good day of work!

Other rooms

Besides the coworking areas with hot-desks, Spaces V&A Waterfront provides an entire room with dedicated desks. Next to this, over 100 private offices can be rented. All offices can be custom made to the business’ style and come in different sizes and with different views. There are 7 meeting rooms that can be rented with all facilities necessary. There are sound proof phone booth for private calls and there is a lounge area on the top floor with a nice balcony overlooking the V&A Waterfront. The first floor offers a coffee and sandwich bar that operates the whole day. Next to this, the basement provides a space for creative sessions or just to chill in the cozy hanging seats.
