The best coffee shops to work from as a digital nomad in Amsterdam. You’re welcome!
The main coffee supplier for the most popular coffee shops in Amsterdam has built its very own coffee space! You can choose from a wide variety of fair-trade coffee from all over the world, made with different techniques, showing off their extreme barista skills. Bocca’s interior is very minimalistic, which is great to stay focused. They placed a huge wooden table in her shop with many power outlets, providing a perfect place to work from, accompanied by one of the best cups of coffee you will find! There is enough space to nestle yourself, but note that Saturdays and Sundays are laptop-free days here.
Café De School has everything, it’s a bar, a restaurant, a nightclub, exhibition hall and a gym, all in one. The café is a great and bright place with a very homey vibe. The perfect place to chill and make you excited to get some work done. The food menu of De School is simple, but very affordable and very tasteful. Always a great place to go to!
Come inside, get comfy, take off your shoes and enjoy your day at Coffee & Coconuts. This former movie theater brings a bright and creative atmosphere and will inspire you to get some work done here. The place is quite big and offers many different seating arrangements for any mood. Treat yourself with one of their fine coffees to stay focused or wander off to an exotic island while nipping from your coconut drink. Don’t forget to get something from their lunch menu, it will be worth it!
This innovative space has everything necessary for a good day of working hard. Its bright interior, many workspaces, great coffee and excellent menu options make it a great digital nomad spot. Find a place in the ‘Swimming pool’, or choose one of the other comfortable and inspiring seats inside or outside. Every table has its own power outlet, so you wont have any excuses left to not being able to work here. A nice extra; for a little lunchbreak you can visit the Foodcourt nextdoor.
One of Amsterdam’s favorite coffee spots to work from is Monks Coffee Roasters. With affordable coffees, outstanding lunch menu and fast internet connection, this is a great place to work remotely from. Even though this is not the most spacious coffee shop, there is plenty of room to work from, as well as a big communal table where other flexworkers nest themselves.
For those that don’t want to spend the day in a café, but still want to have a productive day surrounded by other digital nomads and local students, this is the place to be. There are numerous spaces to work from and it is, just like a library should be, very quiet. There are power plugs everywhere to charge your gears and you will find a small restaurant on the top floor where they sell coffee and sandwiches. What is the catch? They do ask for a small fee per year to become a member and make use of their outstanding WiFi.
Rum Baba is at first sight just an ordinary little coffee-shop with outstanding brews and lovely pastries and cakes. But this place has become one of the favorite places for digital nomads in Amsterdam to work from remotely. It’s probably because of the homey interior and great atmosphere, making it one of the ‘gezelligste’ (coziest) places to work in Amsterdam.
Another highly favored spot by remote workers looking for a place work from for a couple of hours is White Label Coffee in the vibrant area of Baarsjes. Even though this place isn’t famous for its many power outlets, it does provide some very comfortable spots to work from. Its lovely industrial interior and bright atmosphere accompanied by amazing coffee and juices make it a great place to stop by and get inspired.
In the North side of Amsterdam, next to ClinkNOORD Hostel you will find this beautiful coffee shop, designed in a digital nomad friendly way. With heaps of natural light, many areas to sit and work, excellent coffee and lunch menu and powerful WiFi, this is a perfect place to go to for a productive and inspiring work day. A short but fun ferry ride will take you there, and it will be worth it!
Last but not least, we’d like to introduce Vascobelo V-Bar, a franchise with Belgian roots scattered around Europe trying to create the characteristic 20’s great Gatsby feelings throughout their cafés, as well as keeping the Belgian culture alive. A great concept, but mostly a great place to nest yourself all day with your laptop! Vascobelo serves their famous coffee and offers a wide range of meals throughout the day. It’s a little out of the center, but definitely worth to go to when you’re in the neighborhood.
For the real coffee lovers who want to take things to the next level, Amsterdam holds a true Coffee Festival in the Westergasfabriek. Taking place from 5 – 7 November 2021, revealing new coffee trends, offering multiple tastings and many other creative activities, this is the place to be for the real coffee experience!
