The Hyve Capsule Hostel Amsterdam

The Hyve Capsule Hostel Amsterdam

The Hyve Capsule Hostel Amsterdam is one of those places that quietly surprises you. If you’re a digital nomad looking for an affordable hotel in Amsterdam that still feels modern, smart and comfortable, this might be exactly what you’re after.

From the outside it feels minimal, but once inside, it opens up into a futuristic, almost maze-like space that blends capsule hotel efficiency with a surprisingly cozy atmosphere. It’s ideal for travelers who value good design, a fair price, and a stay that simply works. A full-on hostel, but with the luxury and privacy of a hotel.

Location:

The Hyve Hotel is located just outside the city center of Amsterdam, making it a great base for digital nomads who want to explore the city without staying in the busiest tourist areas.

With excellent public transport connections, you can reach Amsterdam Central Station and other key areas within minutes. At the same time, the neighborhood itself feels more local and relaxed, a nice balance after a full day of exploring or working remotely.

One of the highlights nearby is the Westerpark, a creative and green space perfect for a walk, a coffee break, or even a casual work session on a sunny day.

Way To Nomad proof?

For digital nomads visiting Amsterdam, The Hyve Hotel offers exactly what you need for a short stay or city stopover. The fast WiFi is very reliable throughout the building, making it easy to check emails, plan your next destination or get a few hours of remote work done.

While The Hyve is marketed as a hostel, it really has the feel, luxury and privacy of a hotel. All within hostel-budget. Even though it is not a dedicated coworking hotel, it fits perfectly into a flexible remote work lifestyle; a comfortable, affordable place to stay while you explore coworking spots and cafés around the city. Think of it as a smart base for your digital nomad life in Amsterdam.

We have to be honest; there is no breakfast available, but there is a little dedicated space with a microwave, waterboiler and other essentials to fix a quick breakkie.

Amsterdam

Why it stands out?

The Hyve Hotel stands out as a capsule hotel in Amsterdam with a twist. The futuristic, maze-like hallways give the space a unique character; a bit playful, a bit unexpected. The capsules are the star of the show, each one containing a tiny desk and super comfortable mattress with soft linnen and towels.  adjustable lights and your own bluetooth music installation.

But it’s the small details that really make a difference. All rooms also offer adjustable rainbow-LED-lights and bluetooth music installations to answer every mood. The communal bathrooms contain luxury Rituals products, hot showers AND Japanese toilets (yes, heated seats included), adding a level of comfort you didn’t know you needed, but won’t want to miss again.

There’s also a self-service bar with wine and beer from a vending machine, giving you an easy, low-key way to unwind after a day of exploring or working remotely. Add genuinely friendly staff, and you’ve got a place that feels welcoming without trying too hard.

Coworking Space

The Hyve Capsule Hostel Amsterdam doesn’t offer dedicated coworking spaces. However, every room comes with plenty of power outlets and a tiny desk. Also in the lobby you can easily find a spot on the couch, seats or at the little bar at the window. There is a 24/7-working great coffee machine and numerous power outlets. Everything you need to get some work done!

Type of rooms

The Hyve offers two type of rooms: Single and Double Rooms. Then there is the option to either climb up – or dive into your comfy bed, because of the hyve-like construction of the rooms. All rooms come with fresh linen, towels, a desk, adjustable LED lights and a music installation.
There’s not much room for storage, but there are lockers available in the lobby.
