91 Loop
91 Loop
91 Loop is another digital nomad paradise in Cape Town. It is called a boutique hostel, and feels a little more like a luxury hotel than a standard hostel. Because of the comfortable and isolating ‘pods’ and the availability of single and double rooms, there is always the feeling that you have a private space for yourself. Which can be very welcoming after spending a day in the Mother City.
Location:
As the name might give it away. 91 Loop is located in Loop Street in the city center of Cape Town. Just between the famous Long Street and hipster Bree street. Every amenities are within a short walking distance and just around the corner you will find the daily local market at the Green Market Square. Within a short 10 minute walk you find the cozy bars and restaurants on Kloof Street. And a short drive by Uber, car or bus will take you to the Cape Town beaches or Table Mountain. Coming by car? There is a secured and paid parking across the road at the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital.
WayToNomad proof?
91 Loop Hostel ticks all the boxes of the Way To Nomad checklist and make it incredible digital nomad proof. Everything is set up for a comfortable good night sleep, starting the day with a free delicious breakfast and a solid day of working. The location makes it very easy to get around town to do some sight seeing and its overall vibe makes you want to stay here forever.
Why it stands out?
We always are a huge fan of ‘pods’, just so you have your own little space. 91 Loop is one of the few places in Cape Town that offers these. The outstanding breakfast that is served is another big plus of this hostel. It is extremely secure because of the keycard controlled rooms and lockers. The restaurant is a great place to get some work done as well as the inner little courtyard that also serves as a braai area. The location and weekly social events also make sure you will have the best time here!
Type of rooms
91 Loop provides 7 types of rooms. The dorms range from 4-bed, 6-bed and 8-bed dorms. There is a 4-bed family room and different kind of private double rooms. And of course there is the 20-bed pod room. Each bed has its own pod with a curtain, storage room and shelves. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom and come with extra long mattresses.
Tips
Are you a female traveler? There is a female-only 8-bed dorm room available to make you feel a little more comfortable.
The Honey Badger bistro downstairs is a cool restaurant that serves good food and drinks all day long and is a great place to go before going out.
Don’t forget to pay a visit to one of the iconic museums, you are literally surrounded by them!
Take the MyCity bus (that stops right in front of 91 Loop) to one of the pretty beaches or to one of the hiking trails at Lions Head or Table Mountain.
