Surfers retreat in Fuerteventura is exactly what its name states. A place to really relax after a day of surfing or other activities. The laid-back vibes and great communal areas (as well as a brilliant rooftop terrace and swimmingpool area) are perfect to get some work done.

Location:

Surfers retreat is located in the hostel disctrict of Corralejo, away from the busy and touristy streets. Close to the hostel the commercial centre El Campanario can be found. Here you can do all your groceries and shopping or have a decent fiësta in one of the many local bars. Only a 20 minute walk brings you to the vibrant but laid back city centre of Corralejo where you can find numerous restaurants and (beach) bars. Within 10 minutes walking you are on the beach which is great for surfing.

Way To Nomad proof?

Even though this hostel is small-scaled, there is plenty of room to find a nice space to work from. The Wi-Fi in some of the rooms can be a little less than in the communal areas. Furthermore the hostel ticks all of the boxes to be Digital Nomad proof.

At Surfers Retreat you really get the best of both worlds; the hostel life with like-minded people and family breakfast, combined with the luxury feeling of a hotel with outstanding hygiene, professional staff and hotel-worthy interior and facilities. Not to mention the amazing equipped and modern kitchen, which is a treat for those who love to cook. This is hands down, one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in.

Type of rooms

Surfers Retreat offers three types of rooms, which is the 8-bed dorm, the twin shared room or the double rooms. All the bathrooms are shared, but because of the small capacity there is almost always a bathroom available.

Tips

Use one of the yoga mats, and find yourself a nice spot on the rooftop terrace in the morning with a yoga sunrise session. Success guaranteed!

Try to join for breakfast. You will get served fresh coffee or tea, and your seat is all set up when you walk in. Such a great way to start the day!
