Old Foundry Hotel
Old Foundry Hotel
A new concept for digital nomads has reached Cape Town, and it´s called the Ideas Cartel. One of its venues is the Old Foundry Hotel in the center of Cape Town. Just like its sister the Cartel House Hotel, this hotel is definitely worth checking out when working remotely.
The Old Foundry Hotel is located in the center of Cape Town in the lovely and safe area of Greenpoint. Within 10 minutes walking distance you will find the famous shopping and eating heaven V&A Waterfront. 10 minutes walking into the other direction will bring you to the city center, with numerous bars and restaurants and bustling streets. A great location, with easy access to the highway that brings you to the airport.
We think that the Ideas Cartel organization read our minds when they implemented their projects for digital nomads. Or was it the other way around? Anyway, it turns out we are a perfect match! All elements are provided in the Old Foundry Hotel that are perfectly in line with digital nomads standards. But with a splash of luxury. With all the extra facilities and indoor coworking spaces, you won’t even have to leave the venue!
Why it stands out?
The Old Foundry Hotel is based in one of the oldest foundries, dated from 1876. Making the building itself worth the visit. It’s indoor facilities give a nice touch to the overall luxury experience. There is an indoor gym, a beautifully designed Cartel Café (how cool does that sound?) and a Golf Simulator. Next to that, when booking a room you will have access to all the coworking spaces that Ideas Cartel hosts as well as the Rooftop and Pool at the Cartel House Hotel.
Type of rooms
The rather small boutique hotel has three types of rooms. The ‘standard’ Bijou Rooms, the Studio Rooms and the large Master Suites. All rooms are tastefully decorated with antique furniture and local artwork. The rooms come with a work desk, coffee and tea facilities, bathrobes and a mini bar.
On the website of the Cartel House Hotel you will find special deals that offers experience packages and even a workation deal!
Would you like to go for a run or a nice sunset stroll? Head towards the 5km long boulevard from Greenpoint to Seapoint. The perfect place to unwind and empty your mind.
A short Uber ride or even a (cheap) bus ride will take you to the beaches of Cape Town and Camps Bay.

Inside the hotel you will find a coworking space with daily flex desks, private offices and meeting rooms. You can work here just for a day, but it is also possible to get a monthly coworking pass that will give you full membership to the Ideas Cartel Club with all its benefits.
